Courtney Zellars is a Howard University graduate. While there, she majored in Print Journalism and minored in Afro-American Studies.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, her love for writing was sparked in elementary school and nurtured through the Communications and Media Arts program at her high school, duPont Manual. She dedicated most of her time as a contributing writer as well as the Academics Section Editor of the award-winning high school yearbook.
In college, Courtney often freelanced for the student paper, The Hilltop, as well as the Howard University News Service, and The District Chronicles. She became the first Web Content Director for the website of the student-run radio station WHBC963HD3.com and went on to become the General Manager her senior year.
Courtney is currently attending Columbia College of Chicago in pursuit of her M.F.A. in Creative Writing.
